Of course, at the heart of everything we do is our passion for worship. We come together regularly to praise God and to deepen our faith through prayer, fellowship, and study of the Bible. Our church family is warm, welcoming, and supportive, and we invite you to join us as we continue to grow in our relationship with Christ.

The origins of Mt. Pleasant's name are shrouded in mystery due to the lack of historical records from our area's earliest settlers. However, we have a few theories on how the name came about.
Despite having many hills in our region, none of them could be considered a "mount," leaving the origin of our name's "Mount" portion a mystery. As for "Pleasant," its origin is unknown, but we like to believe that our community has always been a welcoming and friendly place to call home.
Another possible explanation for our name comes from a theory that our community was named in honor of John Sevier, the governor of the State of Franklin and later of Tennessee, who resided on a plantation called "Mount Pleasant" along the banks of the Nolachuckey in Washington County. Sevier had many loyal followers in our area, and the Evans family, who played a significant role in our first church's history, were among them. It is possible that our community was named to pay tribute to Sevier and his home, as was common during the late 1700s when people often named things after their heroes.
Regardless of how our community got its name, we are proud to carry the name of Mt. Pleasant, which has been a part of our heritage for over two centuries.
Whether you help through monetary donations, volunteering your time, or spreading our mission through word-of-mouth, thank you. We couldn't accomplish our goals without the help of supporters like you.
